05. Februar 2025 Planet Africa Makes Stunning Debuts
Planet Africa exhibitions opened in Rabat (Morocco), Nairobi (Kenya) and Berlin (Germany) on 19 November, 29 November and 5 December respectively. The exhibitions have been well attended during the festive season, with 30 000 visitors at the Nairobi National Museum in Kenya and 8 000 at the James Simon Gallery on Berlin's Museum Island in Germany. The exhibition has also been well received by the media in the host countries and beyond.
What sets this exhibition apart from most others in its location is its engaging visuals, use of different media and free-standing objects to enhance engagement. AHRC's Senior International Partnerships and Engagement Manager (Europe), Dr Jamie Davies, is one of the people who visited the Nairobi exhibition and wrote the following review on LinkedIn: “It really should be a permanent exhibition in the museum.”
The Nairobi exhibition is scheduled to run until 31 May 2025, while the Berlin exhibition will run until 27 April 2025. This year, the exhibitions will open in Accra (Ghana) in March 2025, Lobamba (Eswatini) on 3 April 2025, Munich (Germany) on 16 May 2025 and Maputo (Mozambique) on 10 September 2025. Other exhibition venues will be announced in the near future.
